Whether it’s hiking one of our many trails, fishing in Lake Nevin, enjoying our public art, reading under a tree, or taking advantage of one of our many programs, Bernheim offers visitors unique opportunities to connect with nature. When my family and I visited the forest we had heard about the Giants!!! They were awesome! Although the forest is 16,137 acres of land, the Bernheim Forest Giants are all located on a 2 mile loop trail. Bernheim Forest says, Danish artist, Thomas Dambo, constructed three giant sculptures throughout the arboretum using recycled wood from the region. They were thrilled to welcome Mama Loumari with her children, Little Nis and Little Elina, and her third baby Giant, who is currently living in Mama's belly. If you get a chance to visit the Louisville area I would definitely recommend a stop at Bernheim Forest!
